I never thought I'd be the mom that would stay at home so their child would nap. I just thought, they can sleep in the car or the stroller. Wrong. At 4 months Ellie decided naps were for the birds. I was lucky if I got 30minutes out of her. Thanks to a great friend, I was able to change that. It turns out all I had to do was put her in a room away from all activity and she would sleep for her 2-3 hour stretch like she used to do. I was now the mom that would stay at home during nap times. Errands were now a mad dash in between her morning and afternoon naps. I definitely felt trapped in my house some days, but to have a happy baby it was all worth it.
Ellie was growing and growing. She now weighed 13lbs 13 oz and was 24 1/2 inches long- 50th percentile for both. And she got her first tooth on February 15. Her immunizations were an awful experience this time around. Gone were the newborn days where a pacifier and holding chilled her out immediately. She cried so hard it made me want to cry. That night she spiked a fever for the first time and it just broke my heart. It got up to 102.8 degrees and she was just a ball of fire. Her normal, not so cuddly personality was gone, and all she wanted to do was be held. Daddy slept on the couch that night and she slept in bed in my arms. I'm pretty sure I was up every hour that night. But by the next morning she was back to her old self again.
